My wife Iris and I would highly recommend Pat and his team at Greenoak Construction after they completed work on extending our fourth bedroom and upstairs bathroom. We found them not only experienced, knowledgeable and professional but also courteous and conscientious, going, in our view, above and beyond what one would normally expect. It seemed that Pat and his team regarded the project not as just a job of work but a vocation, unlike many builders that we have experienced in the past. We now have a bedroom which is beyond our original expectations because Pat and his team took the time and made the effort to think outside of the box on our behalf to maximise available space.

A wooden fence that used to have wild vegetation, heaps of trash and old structures is now an amazing, solid, great-looking wall. Greenoak managed every setback and unplanned finding quickly and with the ideal solution.

Greenoak just completed an extension on our house, which exceeded our expectations. The quality of the work and professionalism of all tradespeople was outstanding. Having had lots of work done before, we’ve been burnt with tradespeople cutting corners delaying completion and leaving messes at the end of each day. Greenoak were exceptional in this regard, they take great pride in their work and we got on great with all tradespeople. While they were not the cheapest quote, you get what you pay for and very happy to recommend.

In January 2025 we went Sale Agreed on a house with a "F" energy rating, and in need of complete renovation, extension and modernization. Buying a "doer-upper" was the last thing we wanted but in hind-sight it turned out to be best thing we ever did mainly due to the fact that we found Greenoak Construction and Pat and his team made the process as straightforward and painless as it could possibly be, the result being we got the house we wanted in the location we wanted and finished to the exact spec and standard that we wanted.
Coming in to this project we had two non-negotiables, a very tight six month timeline and, while the budget was sufficient, we could not afford to over-run. From our first meeting with Pat and Louise we were impressed with their straight-talking, upfront approach, this gave us confidence in the ability of the Greenoak team to deliver the project on-time while meeting all of the other key criteria.
With little knowledge of the operators in the construction trade in the area we relied on Google reviews and for this reason, hopefully to help others, we have always been keen to leave our own review when the project came to completion. When reading the reviews we noticed that there was a very common theme and we are delighted to say that we were very lucky to receive the benefit of all of the same wonderful qualities of the Greenoak team throughout the course of our project.
1. Project Delivered on-time and on-budget: We began planning the project with Pat & Louise when we were still at "Sale Agreed" stage on the house which is testament to the fact that the Greenoak team wasted no time, our house sale completed on a Friday and the Greenoak team were ready to move on to site the following Monday, from that point onwards the team stuck with the project right through to completion with little to no downtime. Greenoak have great relationships with their suppliers which meant that lead-times were never an issue and throughout the course of the project there was never any delay due to availability of materials. The project was also delivered on-budget which was very important to us.
2. Attention to detail and quality of work is second to none: All of the core Greenoak team and their sub-contractors are top-class tradespeople, their attention to detail and the quality of their workmanship is flawless. We have a number of practical examples of this which we are very happy to share should anyone ever want to reach out.
3. Practical Approach: Pat adopts a very straight-forward, practical approach to his work and we were very lucky to get the benefit of the wisdom of his many years of industry experience, whenever we did encounter a problem it was always quickly followed by a practical solution. We are also extremely thankful for the advice and reassurance that he gave us on a number of occasions, we can genuinely say that we always felt that we were in safe hands from the beginning to the end of the project.

Excellent Team: We have already mentioned the top-class workmanship of the Greenoak Team, however, they are also a team of great people who provided us with support, advice and friendship throughout. The site was always a happy place to visit and we will always be so thankful to Louise, Felix, Dermot, Wes, Ciaran, Alex, Jack, Conor and the electrical and plumbing teams for their support and hard work.
Thanks to Greenoak Construction we have just spent a very enjoyable and comfortable Christmas in our new home which now has a new footprint and an "A" energy rating. Delighted to have Greenoak fulfilling our building project. The open plan kitchen is just perfect. The insulation in the extension has made a huge difference to the kitchen too. We have just finished our home renovation with Greenoak Construction and working with them was a pleasure. They collaborated so well with our architect, building a strong relationship that made the entire process smooth and painless for us.
Their attention to detail was exceptional, so many small elements of the project were carefully considered at every stage. We were also very impressed with the quality of their on-site expertise, knowledge and tidiness, everyone was professional and a delight to be around.

We asked Greenoak Constructions to come out and quote us for the removal of a supporting wall between our kitchen and dining room. They were very prompt and efficient and we had our quote back quite quickly. They were very competitive with the pricing and were able to start within the week. The work took 2 days and the results were amazing. Would highly recommend. Good quality work and very professional and friendly.

We’re absolutely delighted with the extension Greenoak built for us. From the start right through to the end, the whole process felt really straightforward and stress-free.
A big thank you to Pat and Louise for all the advice and patience with our questions along the way , they were always on hand with great suggestions. We engaged Greenoak to complete a demo of existing 70's ground floor extension and full rebuild of new ground floor extension (open plan kitchen/utility/living space, bedroom and bathroom). Greenoak also managed a full rewire, replumb, and partial retrofit of the "old" main house (3bed semi-d). At the initial tender stage we spoke to a number of construction companies, Pat & Louise stood out for their commitment to quality and honest advice on what would be the best use of our budget. We are really delighted with the outcome of the build and would confidently recommend Greenoak to anyone. Pat also had some really good advice around where to place kitchen etc. which we took on board and are grateful for (as we didn't have an architect and 1st time homeowners). Like any build we had some snags, these were all fully resolved by the team. Louise also supported us with the necessary documents for our grant application and endless queries which was great. All of Pat's team members on site were lovely to deal with, very polite and diligent. They were very upfront with costings, we managed to largely stick to our budget and timeline despite some bad weather causing unforeseen delays. Greenoak were also very fair and competitive when we decided to add on some additional finishings towards the end of the project. Greenoak and team take pride in their work and it shows! Thank you!

We recently engaged Greenoak Construction to complete a full kitchen extension and remodel. We are absolutely delighted with the end result. We found Pat, Louise and all the team great to deal with from the first stages of design and all throughout the project. We had our 3 garden shed roofs replaced.They came out promptly . Started the job about 3 weeks later with their roofing team. Excellent job. Completed in a week. Extremely neat and tidy and very hard workers who know their trade !

I can highly recommend Pat McCabe and his team, they recently completed a full renovation of two bathrooms for us in addition to a reconfiguration of kitchen to accomodate a new larder. I employed Pat and the crew at Greenoak to undertake the €1.2 million refurbishment of the main hostel and conference centre at the National Scout Centre, Tibradden, Dublin 16. They delivered the project on time and within budget. Pat worked hard to whenever problems arose during the build always thinking outside the box to find solutions that enabled the project to be completed within budget. We had our house renovated by Greenoak Construction earlier this year, and we are delighted with the quality of work they delivered. In 3 short months they completely refurbished the house to modernise it and make it energy efficient including rewiring, underfloor heating, insulation, open plan kitchen and dining room, upgraded bathrooms and ensuite etc.
Schedule was very important to us and they got us back in by our deadline and on budget. They also accommodated any extra design details we asked for along the way. Pat, Ciaran, Louise and team delivered a great end result for us!

Very good building company. We have recently done an extension and full refurbishment of our house and the job has been carried out within the estimated timeframe and in the budget. I would remark that they are quite flexible and have had our needs into account. From the structural point of view the external engineer we had was very happy with the work. The finishes are very good too. 100% highly recommended.

With Greenoak Construction, we got both a builder and a house designer. Pat and his team transformed a fire damaged house to a repaired and renovated house. The outcome is an upgraded house with an applied practical design, quality build and an energy-efficient house. They delivered an excellent and comprehensive project. After living in the house for 6 months we are delighted with our home.

• Pat’s availability and communication throughout the project was second to none. He researched good solutions and was proactive in advising of alternatives and being inclusive of our demands and wishes.
